Good Seed Good Ground (GSGG) was established in November
2002. We are a nonprofit 501 (c)3 organization. Our mission
is to rebuild the lives of troubled youth. We address the needs of the family
holistically, with new and innovative programs. We not only find summer employment
opportunities for youth, but we are an instrumental agent in the securing
process and maintaining employment.
This year, 2007, we acquired a bus; this allowed us to provide
transportation to and from the worksites.
Forty-six youth were hired through a partnership with Busch Gardens. We also continue to seek full time
employment opportunities for adults.
Our Executive Director, Mrs. Renita M. Parker is very
knowledgeable of the Southeast Community of Newport News, Virginia which
includes zip codes 23607 and 23605.
This is a community that she was raised in and holds near and dear
to her heart. She has continued to
work with dedication and commitment to help the community and its
needs. She is employed full-time in
the IT Field for one of largest subcontractors in Norfolk Naval Base.
